Coffee and Company 2014

Coffee and Company continues to welcome caregivers and parents to drop into the playgroup on Monday and Friday mornings. Adults get a chance to have some grown-up company and share coffee while children play with some great toys and enjoy a snack part way through the program. A very casual atmosphere. Come on out and meet some of your friends and neighbours!

Where: Lynwood Park Community Building (7 Sycamore Dr, Ottawa, ON)
When:  Monday and Friday mornings from 9:30 AM to 11 AM
Cost: $1 for one child; $2 for a group of children

Coffee and Company runs on the same schedule as the schools do. It is not open on PA days, Christmas holidays, March break holidays nor in the summer!

Looking for something to do this week? Want to ring in the new year?

Please note: The Lynwood Village Community Association is not organizing or affiliated with the following events and you will need to visit the websites for the most up-to-date information. We've just pulled together a small sample for you. If you have other ideas we should add to this list, please let us know!

Rink Ready for New Year - Tread Lightly

The rink is starting to come together. It is ready for New Years Eve and New Years Day skating thanks to the very small team of workers who have spent many hours working on it.

Please be gentle with the ice. The cold weather after the recent thaw has made the ice brittle.

If the temperature is above -3C please skate very gently - the ice will be soft.

If the temperature is above 0C please do not skate at all. It will just ruin it for someone else the next day. Wait for colder weather.

Tis the season...for skating!

Our rink isn't open just yet, but Stephen is working hard to make sure everything is ready to go...hopefully this week! The City of Ottawa Rink of Dreams on Marion Dewar Plaza at City Hall is open, weather-permitting, daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. and the heated changing facility is open daily from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. It will be open throughout the Christmas Holidays and will be staffed on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, weather permitting.

The following holiday schedule will apply:
December 24 – closed at 6 p.m.
Christmas Day – 1 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Boxing Day – noon to 11 p.m.
New Year’s Eve (December 31) – closed at 1 a.m.
New Year’s Day – noon to 11 p.m.

Even closer to home, it looks like the Westcliffe Rink is up and running. So get out and get skating! Or, better yet, volunteer to help Stephen ( prepare and keep our own community rink in great shape for the season!
