Survey: Lynwood All-Season Open-Air Gazebo

The LVCA is considering spending significant funds over the next year or two on getting a gazebo constructed in Lynwood Park.

The constructions would be co-funded by the City and possibly other foundations.

This is a long-term project, but would benefit everyone in Lynwood.  We are seeking your input on this project.

Results will be published here.  Private information used for verification will not.

Lynwood Community Funding Application

The Lynwood Village Community Association has extra funds and is looking for ways to help out the community.

To this end, the board struck up a sub-committee of members of the community to devise a process to select and approve projects for funding/support.

Here's how it works.

  1. An applicant completes a form describing their project and how much funding they're requesting for from the LVCA.
  2. Request is received by the LVCA at lynwoodvillage@gmail.com
  3. The request is posted on the LVCA’s web site, Facebook page, etc. along with the date when the Executive is going to consider the request.
  4. Each member of the Executive rates the request using the rating criteria.
  5. The Executive meets to discuss the request and makes a decision on the request. (If appropriate the Executive consults with the city.)
  6. The secretary summarizes the ratings of the request, the decision and the reason behind the decision.
  7. The Executive’s secretary informs the requestor of the decision.
  8. The summary is posted on the Executive’s communications vehicles (website, Facebook, etc.)
The goal is to invest the LVCA's extra funds back into the community in a transparent way and solicit ideas from the community itself.

So, get the funding request form here and send us your ideas!

Your Community Needs YOU!

There's money in the LVCA bank and we want to spend it on programs that reflect our diversity and community priorities.  To ensure that we make good spending decisions, we need guidelines.  We're looking for volunteers to help establish these guidelines over the next few months.

A few example guidelines are:
1. Overall spending should benefit all demographics in our community through targeted programs
2. The community can submit spending Ideas via email, mail or phone.
We foresee 10 hours of effort for 2-4 people through January.  Tasks include drafting guidelines, setting up a free SurveyMonkey online survey, distributing the survey to community members via email & Facebook, collecting results and using them to refine the guidelines.  Your community needs you - If interested, please contact your LVCA...
- By mail at LVCA, 7 Sycamore, Ottawa, ON, K2H 6H9
- By phone at 613-712-8568
